History

Originally knowned as ‘La Peineta’ -inaugurated in 1993 and with an original capacity of 20,000-  the Atlético de Madrid stadium saw major makeover from 2011 until 2017. It has replaced the Vicente Calderon stadium from the 2017-2018 season onwards as a home ground for Atlético de Madrid’s domestic and European competitions .
